It is that part of the Complete Denture that rests on the oral mucosa and on the upper side this contains the teeth. The material used in the preparation of denture base is acrylic resin. All the retention and support of the Complete Denture depends upon this part.

 

  1. Denture Flange

In Complete Denture the extensions of the denture on both lingual and buccal sides are known as Denture Flanges. These should be present for providing the proper peripheral seal to the denture which is the main factor for the stability of Complete Denture. But in case of Complete Denture having more extended flanges there can be chances of having ulcers by the patient on mucosa.

 

  1. Denture Border

Denture Border is that part of denture base where the polished surface of the Complete Denture meets with the impression surface of the same. Overextended Complete Dentures can cause the hyperplastic tissue changes.

 

  1. Denture Teeth

This is the main part of Complete Denture that helps in the mastication of food, provides aesthetics and also helps in phonetics.
