Due to the less content of inorganic part in the deciduous teeth, they are very much prone in having Dental problems and also the time of approach for the bacteria to reach the pulp part is less in deciduous teeth than the permanent ones.

Pulpotomy is the procedure to save the tooth mainly the deciduous ones in case of having caries that either lies very close to the pulp chamber or has involved a little bit of pulp part.

Pulpotomy is also referable in the permanent teeth only in cases where the time limit is short or the person has to travel and the Root Canal Treatment can be completed.

Indications for Pulpotomy

Tooth having caries but no history of pain is present.

• Caries extended up to the pulp part but has yet involved only coronal pulp.
• No swelling, sinus or pus discharge.
• Any trauma that has led to the exposure of tooth.

Severe pain in tooth.

• Swelling, sinus pus discharges in relation to tooth.
• Periapical pathology in relation to tooth.
• Resorption of pulp.
• Damaged pulp.
