Teething is the process by which the infants develop primary teeth in oral cavity. Teething begins at the age of 3 months and it can take around 12 months for the first tooth to erupt in the oral cavity. The normal age at which Teething begins is encountered as 6-9 months. The last teeth comes in the oral cavity at the age of 2-3 years but this period can show many of the changes in babies and this can take many years to Teething to come at its end.

The teeth which erupt in the oral cavity during the process of Teething are mainly known as Baby Teeth. These are known as Cutting Teeth because of the myth that when the tooth comes into the oral cavity they tear off the gum pads. But the reality is that when the process of Teething begins, there occurs lot of body changes, which results in the secretion of many chemicals that causes the death of gum cells and let the teeth their emergence in the oral cavity.

Lower Central Incisor at the age of 6 months approximately.

Upper Central Incisor at the age of 8 months.

Upper Lateral Incisor at the age of 10 months.

Lower Lateral Incisor at the age of 10 months.

First Molars at 14 months of age.

Canines at 18 months of age.

Second Molars 2-3 years of age.
