Cosmetic Dental Procedures

Cosmetic Dentistry

With the transition from being a boring chore to the means to be glamorous, dental care popularity is on the increase. This has led to various cosmetic procedures for that glamorous look.

A smile makeover refers to any combination of cosmetic dental procedures that enhances the beauty and appearance of the smile, correcting almost any dental problem. Crooked teeth can be straightened, chipped or broken teeth can be repaired, missing teeth or gaps replaced or closed, recontour gummy smiles, and stained or discolored teeth can be whitened to ensure your smile captures even the hardened heart.

The procedure involves porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns and/or porcelain onlays. Veneers are thin shells of fired porcelain that are placed on the front surfaces of the teeth, which offers a natural look and feel. Veneers allow the dentist to aesthetically change the length, width, color and shape of a tooth. Restoring teeth to their natural beauty, veneers also resist staining, creating an enduring white, bright and straight smile. Porcelain crowns and onlays offer the same advantages.

Since dental onlays can be made from durable, tooth-colored porcelain, they offer much more enduring and natural-looking results than metal fillings. In addition, their customized nature allows dentists to bond them securely to the tooth surface, adding structural integrity and preventing bacteria from entering and forming cavities.

Onlays also help to conserve more tooth structure because their use requires minimal removal a tooth’s surface. However, their most important benefit is that, in saving damaged teeth, onlays help patients avoid extensive treatment with dental crowns , dental bridges, or dental implants.

    Dear Doctor,

I am 37 years old.I had a implant done on my front 2 incisor teeth and one of them failed.I am right now on a cantilever bridge, which has support only from one tooth which is the canine.
My smile is very bad and it looks very inclined to one side as I understood there is a loss of bone from my upper gum, which has made my lips to sink in. I would like to correct my smile and make it really good so I can be confident. Please recommend me any procedures that involve minimum pain or no pain. I can share my smile pictures,if you can give me your was-sup or email Id.

    Thank you,
    Prashanth
