Now a Days Mouthwash is a daily routine product

Mouthwash, which is also known as mouth rinse, is basically used for the maintenance of oral hygiene of the person. There are various types of Mouthwash that serves different purposes according to their contents present.

An antibacterial Mouthwash mainly contains chlorhexidine that acts as the main antibiotic agent, which when given in small quantities may inhibit the activity of the bacteria but in large quantities this can cause the death of bacteria.

Also another Mouthwash which removes plaque serves the same purpose. Nowadays there has increased the availability of Mouthwash containing fluoride in it and the main function of this is to prevent tooth decay.

Some people believe that cleaning of oral cavity just with Mouthwash is sufficient but this fact is not true. Various Dental Associations has promoted the use of Mouthwash along with Tooth brushing and Flossing.
